Imaging

The Department of Food Chemistry and Toxicology is equipped with the Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope from Zeiss 710 including the ELYRA system PS.1 for super-resolution. The LSM 710 allows the acquisition of 4 colors confocal images, SR-SIM images (also in 3D) and PALM images. The microscope is completed with temperature/CO2-controlled incubator for live cell imaging. Moreover, an additional set-up dedicated to image analysis is available to ensure a regular workflow.

Available Objectives:

Alpha Plan-Apochromat 100x/1.46 Oil DIC M27 Elyra

Plan-Apochromat 63x/1.4 Oil DIC M27

Water Plan-Apochromat 63x/1.0

Lionheart FX Automated Microscope

Equipped with 4 different objectives and multiple filters the Lionheart FX allows great flexibility, from fast imaging to long-term live cell kinetics experiments. It is equipped with fluorescence, brightfield, and phase contrast channels for maximum application reach. Thank to the integrated incubator with controlled temperature, effective containment for CO2/O2 control and a humidity chamber, it optimizes conditions for long-term live cell imaging applications.

The Lionheart FX can be also integrated with microfluidics systems as well as with a dual reagent injector which facilitates rapid kinetic assays. Thanks to the implementation with the software Gen5 it allows automation of image capture, processing, analysis.

  • Available Objectives: 4x-10x-20x-40x Phase Contrast.
  • DAPI- GFP- Texas Red- Acridine Orange (ACR OR) filter cubes.
